Experience

Three Generations

Gamble Residential is the product of over 70 years of construction and design experience. Three generations of Gambles, John Howard, John Beeson, and David Joseph provide a continuity of knowledge, quality, and integrity over those many decades.

John Howard Gamble

John Howard Gamble began his design career in Monterey California in 1948. During his lifetime he created hundreds of designs for homes and commercial structures on the Monterey Peninsula. A licensed California architect, his work has been featured in Architectural Digest and many other architectural periodicals.

John moved his offices to Carmel, California in 1957, where he formed John Gamble and Associates with John Cocker, a Pebble Beach architect and John’s close friend and partner. John Beeson Gamble worked with his father and John Cocker on multiple projects in the late 1960s and 1970s.

John Howard Gamble designs were distinctively mid-century modern, rarely varying from this paradigm.

John Beeson Gamble

The son of John Howard Gamble, John Beeson Gamble has designed and built homes for over 50 years. He has provided design services in Chico and the greater Butte County California area since 2001. He moved to Butte County from the Monterey Bay area on California’s beautiful Central Coast, where he designed and built residential projects for over three decades. Most of these projects were in Carmel and Carmel Valley.

Additionally, John designed and built in Santa Fe New Mexico, the Central Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Hawaiian Islands, San Francisco Bay Area, and Los Angeles.

John has been a licensed California building contractor, the project director for a multi-million dollar construction and property management company in San Francisco, and an architectural drafting instructor at Monterey Peninsula Community College.

In his 50 years providing construction services, John has designed and built in many styles:

  • Small Town Cottage

  • Contemporary

  • Craftsman

  • Mountain Lodge

  • Pueblo Style - in the historical zone of Santa Fe, New Mexico

  • Classic Ranch Style

David Joseph Gamble

With his eye for design and commitment to detail, his professional experience with customer service and project management, David is ideally suited to maintain the creativity and business standards established by his family. His modern approach to design is reflected in his interest in construction technology and energy efficiency and the resulting savings for the homeowner.
